Frequently Asked Questions
|
|
1.0 INSTRUCTIONS |
|
1.1 Do fuel consumption tests
of at least three full tanks of fuel prior to installation using the
'Brim-to-Brim' testing method as detailed on the form provided. |
|
|
|
2.0 IMPORTANT |
|
Due to the cleaning and removal process of the carbon/varnish deposits
inside the cylinders, the fuel consumption may temporarily increase during
the initial cleaning cycle. Mileage will stabilise after a short time.
Noticeable improvement may take up to four tanks of fuel and, for optimum
results to be achieved, please allow 3,000 Km. |
|
3.0 NOTE |
|
The Ethos MAXPower unit consists of a pair
of magnetic frequency resonators that fracture the hydrocarbon chains in
the passing fuel allowing it to mix more readily with the oxygen in the
air and thus burn much more efficiently when ignited. |
| 4.0 APPLICATION |
|
The MAXPower unit is recommended for fuel lines up to 2.5cm in diameter. For more performance, you may install two MAXPower units fitted approximately 40-50cm from each other on the fuel line. |

MAXPower FAQ's |
|
Q.1 Why install the MAXPower unit 10cm away from any electrical sensors? A.1 In the newer vehicles fitted with electronic fuel injection and electronic management systems, many manufacturers are placing sensors close to the combustion chamber. These sensors may be hard to locate, as some may even be built-in and come in all different shapes and sizes. The MAXPower unit is so powerful that it could affect a sensor into giving a false reading indicating that the vehicle is requiring an even richer mixture, if the MAXPower unit is installed in close proximity to it. Q.2 Is the MAXPower unit just a magnet? A.2 No, it is not a regular magnet, it is a MATCHED PAIR of tuned Neodymium inductors that generate a specific frequency resonance between its two faces. Q.3 How does the MAXPower unit work? A.3 The MAXPower unit operates on the principle of RESONANCE, utilising a double chamber frequency with phased frequency modulation. Q.4 What is a hydrocarbon? A.4 A hydrocarbon is the hydrogen and carbon content of the fuel. Q.5 What are hydrocarbon chains? A.5 Hydrocarbon molecules that cluster and grow causing molecules to be trapped from air during the combustion. Q.6 What octane will it work on? A.6 All octane levels: higher octane performance can be achieved on lower octane fuel. Q.7 Can the MAXPower unit give an extra boost? A.7 Yes, customers worldwide have reported higher performance on lower octane fuel. Q.8 Why can't the oil companies provide this boost? A.8 Because the fracturing of hydrocarbon chains occurs only when the fuel is passed through the MAXPower booster. When the engine is turned off, the fracturing of hydrocarbon chains stops and, in a matter of hours, the condition of the fuel returns to the more congested state. The phenomena of fracturing the hydrocarbon chains can only be induced by the MAXPower unit. Q.9 Will it work on fuels other than petrol? A.9 Yes, it will work on petrol and diesel fuels, but the percentage of improvement will differ from one type to the other. Bigger improvements are usually seen on petrol vehicles. Q.10 Can I install the MAXPower Unit? A.10 Yes, however you must make sure you are placing the MAXPower unit on the correct line i.e. "the one under pressure from the fuel pump" Note that fuel injection engines have two lines running in parallel between the fuel tank and the engine, a supply line and a return line, so make sure to install it on the supply line.
Ethos MAXPower Super Fuel Saver Q.11 What kind of fuel line? A.11 All types of line: metal, plastic or rubber, but optimum results are achieved on non-ferrous lines. See notes above about fitting to ferrous fuel lines. Q.12 Will it work on engines fitted with fuel injection systems? A.12 Yes, place the MAXPower unit as close to the injection system as possible. Q.13 Can I place the MAXPower unit before the fuel injection pump? A.13 Yes, but preferably after if there is space to fit it there. Q.14 Do I need more than one MAXPower
unit for fuel injected systems?
Q.15 - Do I need to adjust my carburettor? A.15 No, you should not have to make any adjustments to see the improvement as long as the engine was well tuned in the first place. Q.16 How far back from the combustion chamber will the device work? A.16 We have installations in which the MAXPower unit is working at three feet from the combustion chamber but, in practice, the closer you can get it, the better. Q.17 When should I check my mileage and when can I expect results? A.17 Make sure you check your mileage before you install the MAXPower unit. Mileage is the sum of the total miles driven divided by the amount of fuel used. Most people believe they are receiving better mileage than they actually are. We suggest that you drive at least 2,000Km of normal driving before checking for improvements. Q.18 Why 2,000Km? A.18 This allows the MAXPower to do its job of removing the carbon/varnish deposits. Remember it took thousands of miles to build up these deposits in your engine so conversely it will take some time to remove them again. Q.19 Could my mileage decrease and why? A.19 Yes, it is possible that your engine could temporally decrease in mileage and increase in emissions at the beginning of the cleaning/removal period. This condition is only temporary and will stabilise. Q.20 How much improvement can I expect? A.20 This depends on the size and type of the engine, mode of driving, city or motorway driving, long distance or short plus seasonal and weather conditions. Fuel savings of up to 20% and more have been reported. In addition, many customers report increased performance, easier starting, smoother running and a lower operating temperature of the engine. Q.21 How does the MAXPower unit clean the engine? A.21 Your engine builds up
carbon/varnish deposits due to incomplete combustion (improper burning).
Molecules that are non-homogeneous are found in both gasoline and diesel
fuels. As these molecules begin to cluster and grow, some molecules become
trapped during combustion, air is unable to reach the trapped molecules
and they do not burn completely. Q.22 Do the climatic conditions make a difference? A.22 Yes, in winter seasons, engines are run more without the vehicle moving and electrical appliances like windscreen wipers and heaters all add additional drains on power. Windy and icy conditions also affect results. However there'll be proportional improvement. Q.23 Does high temperature effect performance? A.23 The MAXPower unit is designed to operate in temperatures up to 590oF (310oC). The MAXPower unit should not be placed in close proximity to the point of exhaust. Q.24 Why do larger, older engines usually see the fastest and biggest improvements? A.24 The MAXPower unit, to operate, requires that the fuel flows through its resonator. Fuel flow is important to the process of breaking up the hydrocarbon chains. The smaller the engine size, the more efficient it is and the slower is the fuel flow. With larger engines it is the reverse, giving faster fuel flow rates and quicker results.
