So How Do THEY Work ? The effect of magnetism on fuel to improve its combustion is nothing new. It was first employed during the Second World War by the Royal Air Force on Spitfire and Hurricane aircraft and shown to produce greater range and better performance from poor quality fuel. Of course the devices used then were cumbersome as only electromagnetism could provide sufficient power. Fuel inside the cylinder is ignited by an electrical spark from the spark plug. ‚ The fuel combusts very rapidly creating a force which pushes the piston down and makes the crankshaft turn. ƒ This crankshaft motion is then transferred through various gearing to the wheels and makes the car move. Therefore, you have a finite time taken for a piston to go down and up again for the combustion process to take place. Whatever fuel remains un-burnt during this finite time is wasted and is expelled in the exhaust gases as hydrocarbons. These can be measured using an exhaust gas analyser as used during the MOT test ~ too high a level and the vehicle will fail. When you fit a MAXPower fuel conditioner, its powerful magnetic field ‘excites’ the fuel causing it to combine more readily with the oxygen in the air leading to a more efficient transfer of energy when it is burnt.
