Once upon a time there lived an old wise man who was much beloved by the people of his country. There was also an evil prince who hated the wise man for having the affection of the people while he did not. The prince sought constantly to discredit the wise man and finally hit upon a plan. Tomorrow, said the prince, when the old wise man comes to the market place to talk to the people I shall be there. I will hold in my hands a dove and I will say Wise man, tell me, this bird which I hold in my hands, is it alive or is it dead ? If he says it is dead I will open up my hands and let the bird fly away. If he says it is alive I will crush the dove in my hands and let it fall to the ground, dead. Either way I will have made the old wise man appear a fool. The next day came and the prince was at the market place before the wise man arrived. He waited patiently and, when the wise man appeared and began speaking, the prince took the dove from its cage and raised his voice above the crowd Old wise man he shouted I would like to ask you a simple question; this bird which I hold in my hands, is it alive or is it dead. The crowd grew silent and all eyes turned towards the wise man. The old wise man paused, looked first at the people and then at the prince, and said That which you hold in your hands... it is what you make of it.

There was this farmer who lived in Africa around the time diamonds were first discovered there. One day, a visitor to his farm told him of the millions being made by people who were discovering diamond mines and he promptly upped and sold his farm to go in search of diamonds himself. He searched high and low, all over the massive continent but finally penniless, in poor health and disillusioned, threw himself into a river and drowned. Long before his demise, the man who had bought the farm from him found a large unusual-looking rock in the creek running through the farm which he put on his mantelpiece as a curio. The same visitor who had told the original farmer about the diamond mine discoveries came by again one day and, after examining the rock with great interest, informed the new farm owner that he had discovered one of the largest diamonds ever found and that it was worth a kings ransom ! To his surprise the farmer casually replied Oh, my entire farm is covered with rocks just like that one. The farm which the first farmer sold to go in search of diamonds turned out to be one of the richest diamond mines in the world. The first farmer had actually owned acres of diamonds but had made the mistake of not examining what he had before running off to something he hoped would be better. Each of us is like the first farmer; no matter where we live or what we do we are surrounded by acres of diamonds... if only we simply look for them. Like the curious-looking rocks that covered the farm, they may not appear to be diamonds at first glance but a closer look and some polishing will reveal our opportunities and abilities for what they really are !! |

If someone threw a 1ct diamond worth £10,000 into a lorry load of sand how long would you spend looking for it ?? My guess is: until you found it... the difference being you know it's there !! Networking has far greater potential than that 1ct Diamond - you've just got to catch the vision... So, just keep on searching for new people, and new sales, and you'll find them... they are out there !! |

![]() If I was to tell you about a gold mine, the richest mine in the world, where there are literally mountains of gold just sitting there for the taking you'd be interested, yes ? If I then said that you could make just one visit to this mine and take out with you as much gold as you could mine in one day, but you could only go in once, and out once, what would you do? Would you rush in straight away armed with just a pick and shovel or would you sit down, formulate a plan and elicit some help ? I would suggest the latter. You would probably make a plan, get some tools and some expert help and advice. When you were certain you were thoroughly prepared you would probably turn up with a bulldozer, an HGV or three, a whole team of helpers, dynamite and much, much, more. If we then apply this story to this business, our opportunity can provide all the gold you'll ever need if you simply make a plan, get the right tools, take expert help and advice, and find enough people to help you. Then finally, follow your plan, never, ever, ever, give up on it and it will never give up on you !! |

Following on from the last story, people themselves could be considered as gold in our business as people are the life-blood of any 'Networking' business. Without people theres no sales... and no business ! This leads us nicely onto another interesting issue that this raises which is the inherent power of the business to make new friends... Imagine that one day you are walking along and suddenly stumble upon an old ornate brass lamp. You pick it up and more out of curiosity than anything you give it a quick rub and, to your utter amazement, there appears a great cloud of smoke which quickly disperses to reveal a magical genie standing before you. He greets you and offers you the customary one wish which you think about very carefully as in all the genie stories you've heard before you usually get three wishes ! Finally, you decide and wish to be taken three years into the future to see the massive Network that you have built and to see all the thousands of happy, prosperous, financially free people who have joined your business and are now living the life they always dreamed of. You tell the genie that seeing this will be a great inspiration for you. No sooner than you finish speaking theres a blinding flash and there you are hovering, looking down on your vast Network of happy and excited people. You see hundreds of leaders and business builders training, inspiring people and building enormous groups of their own. They are all talking and laughing and having the time of their lives ! As you gaze in awe at this sight something suddenly strikes you... you look around to check, and you are right. You do not recognise a single soul ! Not a single one of all those new friends... they are all strangers. You turn to the genie and question him about this and he replies This is very true Master; that is the magic of Network Marketing. This magic is truly exciting as three to five years from now the best distributors and business builders in your business will probably be people you haven't even met yet ! You'll have no idea who they are or even where they are going to come from. One thing is certain though, as long as you stick at it, and KEEP ON GOING NO MATTER WHAT, they will appear !! |
